Windows and macOS builds are unsigned, so expect a SmartScreen warning on Windows, and on macOS right-click the app → Open the first time. The Android APK isn't on the Play Store, so allow installs from this source when prompted. The Linux build is a single AppImage: chmod +x it and run, no install needed.

Latest releases

v2.0.0latest Aug 22, 2026
  • NullCom is now Umbra. New name, new logo, new accent color.
  • The Friends, Requests, and Messages tabs are now just one screen: Friends. Unread message counts show right on each friend, and Friend Requests moved to a small popup instead of a separate tab.
  • Everything else, your account, friends, and message history, carries over automatically since it all lives on the server.
  • Android note: this is a new app to Android (the package changed), so it installs alongside your old NullCom app rather than updating it. Your old app keeps working until you remove it yourself.
v1.0.8 Aug 20, 2026
  • Added message reactions. Long-press a message (or tap the "+" underneath it) to react with an emoji, on text, voice, or image messages.
  • In group chats, every emoji reaction on a message shows with its count, and you can tap one to see exactly who reacted and with what.
v1.0.7 Jul 31, 2026
  • Fixed the update checker, which had stopped detecting new versions after installers moved off GitHub.
  • "Remember me" sessions are now protected with your device's own secure storage (Keychain, Credential Manager, or keyring) instead of a plain settings file.
  • The app now checks for updates periodically while it's open, not just at startup.
